ESME (Empowering Strong Moms Everywhere) is a social platform committed to empowering a diverse group of women who, despite variations in age, race, culture, and paths to motherhood, are united in a conscientious alliance that is resilient, proud, and devoted to their children. At ESME, we recognize that challenges such as a weakening safety net, rising healthcare expenses, inadequate affordable childcare options, and a lack of support in balancing work and family life can hinder a mother's ability to remain strong and provide the best for her children. Many moms experience feelings of anxiety, frustration, and powerlessness. The time has come to stand together more firmly. ESME provides strength through information, resources, and, most importantly, community. Whether through a self-defense workshop, an advocacy article for your child, or a movement for pay equity, we are dedicated to empowering moms at home, in the workplace, within their communities, and nationwide.

Founder's Welcome to ESME

I have been deeply concerned by political movements aiming to dismantle hard-earned rights for women and other marginalized groups. At ESME, we have firsthand witnessed how issues such as a dwindling safety net, escalating healthcare costs, lack of affordable childcare, and insufficient support in balancing work and family responsibilities impact a mother's ability to care for her children. Many moms feel worn out, anxious, frustrated, and powerless. It is time for us to collectively take a stronger stand. It is time to cease making apologies, cease accommodating others excessively, and begin speaking out.

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to open ESME to all mothers and establish a movement that unites moms for collective strength. While we continue to offer an extensive array of resources for single mothers, our new mission is Empowering Moms, Embracing Diversity, Promoting Equality. Every mother—regardless of her skin color, residence, partner preference or financial status—deserves to experience empowerment both individually and as part of a larger community.

Our challenges as mothers may vary but they are never simple. Like many mothers out there, I've navigated the complexities of balancing work and family life without ever quite finding equilibrium. I've also experienced the strain of a painful divorce that exacerbated feelings of guilt as a mother and financial instability. Today, fifteen years after remarriage, I find myself immersed in raising five children—two of whom are adopted.

My background as a sociologist specializing in power dynamics has taught me that resources, information, and connections are vital elements of empowerment. Whether it's through a workshop on self-defense, an article on advocating for your child's needs, or advocacy for fair pay standards, ESME remains committed to empowering mothers across all spheres: home life, professional environments, communities large and small—spanning the entire nation.

In the spirit of inclusivity, collaboration, and empowerment, it is with great honor that I extend an invitation to join Empowering Strong Moms Everywhere!
